Modernización del acuerdo de asociación entre Chile y la Unión Europea: perspectiva desde el diálogo político y la cooperación internacional

Abstract

Este estudio de caso analiza la relación entre Chile y la Unión Europea bajo el marco del Acuerdo de Asociación firmado en el año 2002, para dar posteriormente especial énfasis al análisis del proceso de modernización en el que se encuentra actualmente dicho Acuerdo. En razón de las negociaciones de la modernización del texto, esta investigación tiene por foco poder visualizar las implicancias que se derivan en el pilar de Diálogo Político y de Cooperación Internacional, a fin de conocer y examinar los tópicos novedosos y herramientas que implica la modernización del Acuerdo de Asociación entre las Partes. Así, se intenta dar respuesta a si el texto modernizado contribuye a ampliar las temáticas y el marco de acción en materia de cooperación internacional entre Chile y la Unión Europea que aborden nuevos aspectos del escenario global actual.

This case study analyzes the relationship between Chile and the European Union under the framework of the Association Agreement signed in 2002, to subsequently emphasize the analysis of the current modernisation process. Due to the negotiations of the modernisation of the text, this research is focused on being able to visualize the implications that come from the pillar of Political Dialogue and International Cooperation, in order to understand and examine the new topics and tools that the modernisation of the Association Agreement involves between the Parties. Thus, this case study intends to determine whether the modernized text contributes to amplification of the themes and the framework of action in international cooperation between Chile and the European Union that address new aspects of the current global context.
