Factores que influyen en el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes de Actuación Teatral en la Universidad de Chile

Abstract

Conocer los factores que influyen en el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes es de suma importancia si se pretende brindar educación de calidad. El objetivo de esta investigación es conocer la percepción de los estudiantes de actuación teatral acerca de los principales factores que influyen en su rendimiento académico. El instrumento de análisis consistió en la aplicación de una entrevista a 21 estudiantes de las últimas tres generaciones de egresados, correspondientes a la malla curricular antigua. Los resultados destacan, en primer lugar, dos factores en paralelo. Por un lado, la Experiencia educativa previa del estudiante –que involucra tanto el Tipo de colegio del cual egresó, como el capital cultural que posee–. Por otro lado, destacan las Habilidades pedagógicas del cuerpo docente de la carrera. En segundo lugar, aparece el factor socioeconómico, el cual atraviesa a gran parte de los otros factores investigados. En tercer lugar, se destaca el bienestar psicoemocional del estudiante.

To know the factors that influence the academic performance of students is of utmost importance if quality education is to be provided. The objective of this research is to know the perception of theater acting students about the main factors that influence their academic performance. The analysis instrument consisted of an interview with 21 students from the last three generations of graduates corresponding to the old curriculum. The results highlight, in the first place, two parallel factors. On one hand, the previous educational experience that involves both the type of secondary school and the student's cultural capital. And on the other hand, the pedagogical skills of the teaching staff. Secondly, the socioeconomic factor stands out, which cuts across most of the other factors mentioned. And thirdly, the psychoemotional well-being of the student stands out.
