Abstractdc.description.abstractThis article tests whether a defined group of life events can be considered as potential teachable moments for financial literacy for future experimental research. Using follow-up data to estimate the occurrence of a presumably exogenous list of life-time events and their impact on individuals’ basic financial literacy, it is found that few of the life-time events show any impact. The most interestng cases are having a child and changes in health status, specially for women and mature people.CL
