Through overcoming the limits established in standard concentrations of PM10, which occurred between 2OO4 and 2007, in the Central Vally of the Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins Region this area was declared a high pollution by the Ministry Environment ¡n 2009. Subsequently, in 2013 the ministry prepared a Atmospheric Decontamination Plan for the Valley with the aim of reducing concentration of pollutants and comply with the regulations of Air Quality. ln general, one of the contributors to air pollut¡on are the power plants of conventional cycles based on fossil fuels. Regarding that energy is one of the greatest needs of the country (due to industrial and domest¡c requ¡rements), today attempting to diversify the generation matrix using, for example, electric generators Combined Cycle Gas Turbine which reduce the contribution of pollutants into the atmosphere. However, with the restrictions imposed by the Atmospheric Decontam¡nation Plan in the Central Vally of the Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins Region, the ¡mplementation of new industrial projects in this area requires technologies that ensure low emiss¡ons of PM10 and if more emissions are generated of allowing the Atmospheric Decontamination Plan, companies are obliged to implement compensation measures to keep the Valley w¡th¡n the values established in the regulations. Due to ihis, the env¡ronmental feasibility for the implementation of a Thermal Power Plant Combined Cycle Gas Turbine assessed in the Central Vally of the Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins Reg¡on, since, although the emiss¡ons of PM'10 and they NOx are above the base situation of the area generat¡ng an increase of 269,8% and 910,1% respectively, there are compensation measures that could enable their implementat¡on, these would point to the replacement of heating and kitchens, Stop agricultural burning, Condit¡oning of rural roads and scrapping of light and heavy vehicles. From compensation measures Stood out for their effectiveness conditioning rural roads for iis high percentage of decrease emissions of PMIO from rural roads, at around 90%, and to scrap light vehicle and heavy since it generates reductions in NOx emissions of about 1.6 T per year per heavy vehicle, causing chatarrizar needed only 85 of them per year to offset the emissions generated by a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine....

A maintenance system that is working for effective achievement of rapid industrial optimization process is the TPM, Total Productive Maintenance, which seeks the continuous improvement of industrial productivity with the participation of all actors in an industry. This study was to implement TPM step 5, based on the inspection stage of the process in order to achieve standardization and reduced losses in the manufacture of gum in two production lines, called line 1 chewing gum sugar free and line 2 bubble gum with sugar. For both gum production lines, after implementation of step 5 and the process standardization, was shown to be able of reducing the amount of quality defects like non-conforming products (line 1: 57 % and line 2: 82 %); reduce equipment downtime by failures of process, such as the total number of process failures (line 1: 54 % and line 2: 2%), number of failures related to quality (line 1: 68 % and line 2: 45 %) and the variation of size, the main cause of failures (line 1: 13 % and line 2: 27 %). Also environmental impacts are reduced through the rational use of resources: scrap decreased in a 27 % in line 1 and a 13 % in line 2; rework decreased in a 48 % in line 1 and a 100 % in line 2. Moreover were avoided laboral accidents. Finally it was shown that the methodology step 5 of TPM, which is focused on standardizing the process, had an impact on reducing the loss of manufacturing chewing gum...
