This research studies public space from the perspective of the “conflictivist thesis”, and its goal is to describe how different forms of urban conflicts produced public spaces in the Del Sol intermodal station, located in Maipú district. Part of this research happened during “Estallido social”, a simultaneous protests and uprisings in Chile from October 18th 2019, till October 2021. The methodological strategy combines direct observation and a review of secondary sources. In addition to this, techniques are adapted from Forensic Architecture, developed mainly by Eyal Weizman, that aims to collect evidence related to the impacts of counter-hegemonic practices through the analysis of their effects on architecture and materials. Data gathered this way is validated and cross-referenced by open-source research, through journalistic sources and public content in social media. The main findings of this research are related to the specific qualities of conflicts around Del Sol station. Three modes of production of public space are identified: (1) a disruptive mode, which created conflicts between sedimented practices and new occupations that opposed them, (2) a commemorative mode, that assigned new meanings to specific urban spaces and had a recursive nature. The third mode is called (3) opportunist, because it is enabled by another practice or practices, and explores the possibilities of the absence of the urban order....
