Monobranched and hyperbranched dendrimers based on cyclophosphazene containing nitrile and phosphine donors and their Fe and Ru organometallic derivatives
Abstract
The series of complexes [N3P3(OC6H5)(5)X.MLn]PF6, X = OC6H4CH2CN, N(CH3)(CH2)(2)CN or OC6H4PPh2, and [N3P3(X)(6) (MLn)(6)](PF6)(6), X = OC6H4CH2CN or N(CH3)(CH2)(2)CN with MLn = CpFe(dppe) and CpRu(PPh3)(2) have been synthesized by reaction of the corresponding cyclophosphazene ligands: N3P3(OC6H5)(5)OC6H4CH2CNL1, N3P3(OC6H5)(5)N(CH3)(CH2)(2)CNL2, N3P3(OC6H5)(5)OC6H4PPh2L3, N3P3(OC6H4 CH2CN)(6)L-4 and N3P3(N(CH3)(CH2)(2)CN)(6)L-5 with the respective organometallic CpFe(dppe)I and CpRu(PPh3)(2)Cl in CH3OH as solvent and in presence or of NH4PF6. The new compounds were characterized by elemental analysis and IR, UV-Visible and multinuclear NMR spectroscopy. Cyclic voltammetry studies indicate that the cyclophosphazene dendrimers act as insulators between the organometallic centers.
