UN MODELO HIDRODINÁMICO-BAROTRÓPICO PARA LOS FIORDOS AUSTRALES DE CHILE ENTRE LOS 41° S Y LOS 46° S

Abstract

Modelling coastal-estuarine ecosystems, characteristic of the southern fjords of Chile, should be based on hydrodynamic models accounting for the water circulation and its forcing. In this work we describe a barotropic, tidally forced, model (FIORDOS_NIVEL1) for the region between 41° S and 46° S, based on the MOHID modelling system. FIORDOS_NIVEL1 can be used as the basis of nested, smaller dimension and higher resolution, models for a variety of studies such as water quality and ecosystem simulations.
