Potencialidades del turismo de intereses especiales como herramienta para promover el desarrollo de microempresarios en comunidades indígenas y rurales en la Araucanía Costera

Abstract

Este estudio presenta un inventario de los atractivos turísticos y la caracterización de la oferta de servicios turísticos con el fin de elaborar recomendaciones para que a través del Turismo de Intereses Especiales, puedan generarse oportunidades para las comunidades indígenas y rurales de la Araucanía Costera. Mediante información bibliográfica y la consulta a informantes claves del territorio, se presentan en fichas, los atractivos turísticos clasificados según tipo (focal, de apoyo y/o complementario), uso (actual o potencial) y categoría (natural y/o cultural). Además, se sugieren actividades, infraestructura e información necesaria para su uso. Paralelamente, se realizan entrevistas semi-estructuradas a una muestra de 49 microempresarios que ofrecen servicios turísticos. En esta instancia se aplicó cuestionario que permitió recoger antecedentes relevantes para caracterizar los servicios turísticos ofrecidos y los atributos que estos negocios poseen para su eventual inserción en el Turismo de Intereses Especiales. La información recogida fue presentada en cada comuna en un taller participativo con el fin de validar los resultados y obtener más información acerca de las limitaciones que poseen para el desarrollo las microempresas turísticas. Los resultados sometidos a análisis FODA, permitieron conocer las limitantes y elaborar recomendaciones. La investigación permitió reconocer iniciativas que gracias a la asociatividad y los aportes gubernamentales, han tenido éxito desarrollando eco y etnoturismo en el Lago Budi, aprovechando las características de sus humedales y la cultura mapuchelafkenche. Asimismo, fue posible identificar que la mayoría de la oferta turística se liga al turismo tradicional (de playa) y posee un bajo nivel de experticia y calidad, no ofreciendo elementos que generen experiencias relacionadas con la identidad cultural y ambiental de la Araucanía Costera.

This study presents an inventory of the tourist attractions and characterization of the tourist services in order to develop recommendations that through Special Interest Tourism, can promote opportunities for indigenous and rural communities in the Araucanía Coast. Through bibliographic information and consultation with key informants of the territory, the attractions are presented in notes ranked by type (focal, support and/or complementary), use (current or potential) and category (natural and/or cultural). Furthermore, activities, infrastructure and information necessary for use are suggested. In parallel, semi-structured interviews with a sample of 49 small businesses that offer travel services interviews are conducted, with a questionnaire to collect relevant background to characterize the travel services offered and attributes that these businesses have for insertion in Special Interest Tourism. The information was presented in each municipality in a workshop to validate the results and more information about the limitations that have to develop tourism microenterprises. The results submitted to SWOT analysis, allowed to know the limitations and develop recommendations. The investigation initiatives recognize that through partnership and government contributions, the initiatives have succeeded in developing eco and ethnotourism in Budi Lake, according to features and wetlands lafkenche culture. It was also possible to identify that most of the tourism is linked to traditional tourism (beach) and has a low level of expertise and quality, not offering experiences related with the cultural and environmental identity of Coast Araucanía.
