Highly active copper-based Ce@TiO2 core-shell catalysts for the selective reduction of nitric oxide with carbon monoxide in the presence of oxygen

Abstract
A novel core-shell K/Cu/SmCe@TiO2 catalyst is here reported being highly active on the selective reduction of nitric oxide with carbon monoxide under oxidizing conditions. It was found that the reaction proceeds with the generation of nitrates and nitrites adsorbed on the support and ionic nitrates adsorbed on alkaline sites. Full conversion of CO was achieved from 255 degrees C and 97% NO conversion was reached at 330 degrees C.
