Process for refining copper in solid state
Author
Abstract
A process for removing impurities from copper concentrate prior to smelting is presented here. The concentrate is subjected to thermal decomposition in a vacuum chamber at temperatures of about 950 °C. This pretreatment allows the complete removal of arsenic, antimony, bismuth, lead, zinc, as well as of other impurities from the copper concentrate.
