Antecedentes bibliográficos del efecto de la época de remoción de frutas en frutales de hoja persistente y en particular en Olivo sobre el retorno floral y la producción

Abstract

Algunos frutales de hoja persistente, como lo son el olivo, el palto y algunas variedades tardías de mandarinos, presentan problemas de alternancia productiva, con una significativa consecuencia en la producción. La carga frutal y el tiempo de permanencia de los frutos en el árbol serían los principales factores que causan el añerismo, ya que dicho factores, alteran el equilibrio entre los procesos reproductivos y vegetativos. El objetivo de este trabajo fue recopilar información necesaria para analizar si la época de cosecha en frutales de hoja persistente y en particular el olivo, afecta los parámetros tanto reproductivos como vegetativos y su efecto en la producción de la temporada siguiente. Para esto se efectuó una recopilación y análisis de diversas revistas científicas y libros especializados en fruticultura, fisiología vegetal y agronomía. Los antecedentes señalaron que efectivamente existe una influencia de la fecha de descarga frutal en relación al retorno floral y la producción del siguiente año, evidenciando que mientras más se retrasa la fecha de cosecha, mayor será la merma de la producción de la siguiente temporada, acentuando los problemas de vecería. Junto a esto, dicha fecha de cosecha afecta también el crecimiento vegetativo, condición necesaria para soporte de estructuras reproductivas.

Some fruit trees with a persistent leaf, such as olive, avocado and some late varieties of mandarins, present problems of alternate bearing, with a significant consequence in production. The fruit load and the time of permanence of the fruits in the tree would be the main factors that cause the biennial bearing, since these factors, affect the balance between the reproductive and vegetative processes. The aim of this work was to collect information necessary to analyze if the harvest time in persistent leaf fruit trees and particularly the olive tree, affects the reproductive and vegetative parameters and its effect on the production of the following season based on an analysis of scientific journals and books related to fruticulture, plant physiology and agronomy. The bibliography showed that there is an influence of the date of harvest in relation to the floral return and the production of the following year, since the longer the harvest is delayed, the lower the production of the next season, accentuating biennial bearing. In addition, the harvest date affects the vegetative growth, a necessary condition for the support of reproductive structures the following year.
